In this highly visible role, you'll have the opportunity to display the depth and breadth of your experience, as you utilize your local & state construction code knowledge to support complex building projects.

In the area of project support, you’ll work with other professionals to review and comment on project planning, design, construction, and maintenance. As our highly visible Zone Management representative and as a member of project teams from programming through occupancy of new & renovated academic buildings, you will assist the Project with engineering and technical information regarding building systems.

You will coordinate with experienced Zone and Shop personnel to develop commissioning checklists and perform commissioning of new construction projects during project planning, design, construction, and turnover cycles. This will also be an opportunity to coordinate improvements and update the facilities preventative maintenance database.

You’ll provide unique maintenance engineering and technical support for Zone Management, Building Management, Operations Shops, Utilities, and Support Departments for the planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance of existing and new building systems. You’ll also provide program management support for Shop and preventative programs.

In partnership with others, you will identify, plan, and design building facilities maintenance projects for the long-term preservation of academic buildings. In addition, you will identify, design, and manage energy and water conservation projects. You will prepare and manage project budgets and schedules. You will develop project business case justification to obtain funding approval.

To qualify, you must have exceptional customer service skills as well as a BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or related discipline. We require at least 8-10 years of experience in building construction, maintenance, or facilities engineering of educational buildings or similar facilities. You should possess the ability to create construction drawings and specifications and manage construction projects, schedules and budgets.

You should be knowledgeable of local & state construction code. Above all else, your references should confirm your ability to communicate and work with a diverse faculty, staff, and student community.
