Bing Nursery School is part of the School of Humanities and
Sciences at Stanford University and serves as a laboratory for the Department of
Psychology. The department established the school in 1966 to serve as a site for
research and training in child development. It provides high quality educational
programs to over 500 young children (2-5 years) each year, their parents,
students in training, and research and teaching faculty.
A Teacher 2 at
Bing Nursery School has the second highest level of teaching responsibility and
works on a team with a Head Teacher, other teachers, student interns and
assistants within the classroom. The responsibilities include collaborating in
planning and implementing the program for young children, completing written
developmental reports on children, setting objectives for teaching learning
activities for children, meetings and conferences with parents, participating in
research projects which are on-going at Bing Nursery School, and participating
in school-wide activities and events.
Bachelor’s degree in Early
Childhood Education or Child Development, or equivalent education and courses in
education and child development. Two years experience teaching in the field of
Early Childhood Education. Experience teaching in a laboratory school desirable.
Work outdoors on a regular basis; ability to lift up to 25 lbs, bending,
lifting, standing, carrying children and equipment.
Final offers of
employment are contingent upon successful completion of national criminal
background check, national sex offender registry search and, where applicable,
driving record.
