We're looking for a senior software application developer who can develop well-architected, maintainable and clean code using agile.
As a senior member of our team you would work on a system from conception to rollout. You have a strong grasp of Oracle data base application development, PL/SQL and demonstrated experience with application design and development using Oracle’s Application Express Development (APEX) tool. You think critically about problems, identify impacts that may not readily be known and choose the right course of action. You love learning new tools, languages, techniques as well as mentoring others.
Key Responsibilities: • Design, develop and unit test new features, enhancements and interfaces for the SeRA (Stanford Electronic Research Administration) system, an APEX web application that entails research proposal creation and submittal, awards and Oracle Financials account creation • Drive consistent quality practices through all your work but especially in production hot fixes and in major new functionality (sub-award processing and account close-out) • Conduct design and code walk-throughs • Address issues related to system stability, scalability, performance and security • Prioritize and multi-task simultaneous input work streams to help meet researcher and administrator demands for excellence • Mentor and lead junior developers
Skills: • Expert skill level (5+ yrs) with Oracle Application Express framework • Strong Oracle database development experience including SQL, PL/SQL, configuration, performance tuning etc • Strong understanding of relational database concepts and data modeling • Strong knowledge of HTML5, JavaScript, Ajax, CSS, and JSON • Experience with JQuery Javascript library
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, MIS or related field or equivalent experience.
