The Stanford Center for Opportunity Policy in Education in the Stanford School of Education seeks a research analyst with mixed methods research experience, including expertise in quantitative/statistical analysis, particularly multivariate statistics, to contribute to the design and execution of research/evaluation studies for the Center.

Duties and responsibilities:

20%: Design and execute research protocols to gather quantitative and qualitative data. In collaboration with faculty directors and senior research director, contribute to the overall research and policy agenda, profile, and impact of the Stanford Center for Opportunity Policy in Education.

30%: Support data collection as needed including the organization, archiving and clean-up of data for analysis, as well as conducting interviews and observations.

10%: Monitor the completion of data collection activities to meet deadlines and deliverables,

20%: Use statistical software to analyze quantitative data and write reports on findings, including technical reports based on both qualitative and quantitative studies.

20%: Support data analysis and writing of technical reports based on both qualitative and quantitative research.

The successful candidate will be knowledgeable about education research, have experience with mixed methods research or evaluation, as well as experience and facility with quantitative methods in social science research, including survey research and use of statistical analysis programs (e.g., SPSS, STATA, SAS). Candidates should have solid knowledge and experience managing long-term research projects, including the design of survey instruments and/or interview protocols, data collection processes, data analysis, and writing reports on findings of the research.

Advanced degree in Education or equivalent and 3-5 years relevant experience required.

This is a two-year fixed term position.

All final candidates will be required to pass a background check before being employed by Stanford University.
