The Associate Director of the Center for Global Business and the Economy
(CGBE) at the Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB) is responsible
for an annual program of 14-18 Global Study Trips for MBA students and
3-5 trips for Pre-MIX, a travel program for incoming MBA students.
As
part of the curriculum design for the MBA Program, all students must
complete a qualifying Global Experience and Global Study Trips serve as a
main option to fulfill the requirement. The primary work of this
position is to coach, advise and guide the leaders of the student-led
Global Study Trips and oversee program implementation. In addition this
role must ensure exemplary risk management processes. Central to this
role are strong project and people management skills, experience with
international travel, a strong knowledge of risk management, ability to
guide multiple projects, and the leadership skills to help motivate and
hold accountable a student volunteer workforce. This position may
involve occasional domestic and international travel
• Demonstrated success in program management required.
• Proven success in planning, implementing and evaluating programs and ability to take initiative to make improvements.
• Experience in student activities advising and comfort working in a university setting desired.
• Substantial professional experience, preferably working on global projects.
• Exceptional organizational, analytical and strategic thinking skills.
• Demonstrated superior writing, editing, and oral communication skills.
• Excellent relationship building, people management and leadership capability.
• Confidence and poise to interact diplomatically and communicate effectively with a diverse constituency.
• MBA or other advanced degree in international relations, education or other relevant field highly desired.
• Global perspective and broad experience with international travel required.
