The Graduate School of Education at Stanford seeks an administrative
associate to provide a full range of administrative support to a group
of faculty. We are seeking an accomplished, highly motivated, and
energetic self-starter to play a key role in administrative support for
dynamic faculty and their research groups. The position involves daily
interactions with professors and students. The administrator will be
expected to solve problems and participate in a full range of tasks
implementing appropriate solutions under minimum direction.
Responsibilities
include, but are not limited to: SU finances, teaching and course
support, purchasing, travel and reimbursement, calendars, coordination
of special events, and general office tasks. Respond directly to
inquiries and resolve problems based on policy and supervisor’s
direction. Schedule professional obligations for faculty both within
and outside Stanford University. Make complex travel arrangements.
Prepare travel reimbursements. Monitor and maintain records. Draft,
edit, and assemble reports and correspondence, which may require
research and content changes. Prepare background materials, slides, and
other presentation materials for reports and meetings. Coordinate course
support with faculty, TAs and students. Serves as the first point of
contact for the Center for Educational Research at Stanford (CERAS)
building. Special projects as assigned.
Two-year degree and 3-5
yrs related work experience is desired. Demonstrated administrative
experience required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office word processing,
spreadsheet and project management is required. Knowledge of or
willingness to learn new database software required. Strong written,
oral communication and interpersonal skills required. Ability to work
independently, as well as in a group setting, and to exercise mature
judgment required. Knowledge of SU policies, regulations, and accounting
is a plus.
Able to perform highly structured activities with set
work procedures, rules and instructions (e.g., data-entry operator,
file clerk).
All final candidates will be required to pass a background check before starting work at Stanford University.
