3P4, Exempt, School of Engineering, 2 Year Fixed Term
The Stanford School of Engineering has a long history of pioneering efforts in online learning. Engineering classes for graduate students at a distance have been televised since the 1960s and streamed over the Internet since in the late 1990s. The current wave of MOOCs which have touched millions of students around the world are the result of experiments of our faculty in 2011. Advances in online learning hold great promise to transform engineering education and both the School and the University are making considerable investments in this area.
